The pilgrimage route that arrives in Santiago de Compostela begins at Port de la Selva and passes through La Garrotxa, entering from the region of La Selva through Les Planes d’Hostoles. Part of this route coincides with the Via Verda, in particular the stretch just before Les Planes, but once you reach the village it becomes the old Camí Ral, leading directly to Sant Feliu de Pallerols (also described). Exiting the town, you pass the hermitage of the Angel, dated 1536, dedicated to the guardian angel. Dotted all over the village, you will find the classic ‘shell’ sign that indicates the Santiago Way (Camino de Santiago).
