Les Planes d’Hostoles is one of the 11 municipalities that make up the Garrotxa Volcanic Zone Park, a nature reserve covering an area of more than 15,000 hectares. However, only a few hectares of the municipal territory are part of the park. The volcanoes of Les Planes are the Traiter and the Tià, in the mountain range of Les Medes, northwest of Cogolls.

Stage 5 of the G83 route passes through these places, giving you a good view of their craters.
